Starting August 17, for Fall 2015, I’m offering
To register, go to Delta College.
The theme of the course is “Choices” – choices authors have made (biographical and cultural approaches), choices characters have made (formalist, close readings of text), and choices readers make about the work (reader response approaches).
We’ll read several short stories, three novellas, and six novels. I will introduce the assigned readings in the etudes virtual “classroom” each week and we will discuss them in the etudes discussion forums during the week. There will be three quizzes and two essays in addition to the discussions over the course of the semester.
The below reading list is for folks who want to start reading ahead of the semester.
Some of these materials are free on the internet while others are available via Amazon.com and also stocked by the Delta College bookstore (click on the textbook link in the Schedule of Classes).
