Today, on the Nanowrimo Facebook page, a writer asked about starting her own publishing company. She wondered if any of us had done so. I commented to her that I had and invited her to this website to chat it over.

This is one of the topics we can toss around in the Indie Pub (Independent Publishers) Forum: the challenge of setting up your own publishing company. I did this in 2012 when releasing So Sweet Against Your Teeth and then over the next two years with both Hillary Broome novels, learning as I go along.

Just can’t get over being a fan of entrepreneurialism, being the daughter of a man who started his later-very-successful contracting business, Skalisky Decorators, in the four-car garage behind our house when I was a little girl.
