Whew! Been awol so long from the website blog! No excuses except teaching four Delta classes, revising House of Eire, facilitating the Thursday Trinity Writers, Secretarying (a new word) for Gold Rush Writers, critiquing with Sisters in Crime, partying with NanLes gals and the 3Js (my sisters), completeing the fascinating assignments for Stanford Novel Writers program, being mimi to kids and grandkids, and etc. etc. and so forth! It would have been much more manageable, had I not sprained my lower back hopping off and back on the elliptical at the gym!!!! Slowed me way down!
Anyway, today was an interesting Authors Event at Victory Park in Stockton, inside the Haggin Museum. I presented on Why San Joaquin County is a good setting for stories. Read from Fat City and Scott Evans Tragic Flaws and House of Cuts and Dads, too. Next Wednesday, should be a hoot to be part of a RedHatPanel
Then on to Oct. 25/26 at the California Capitol Book Festival, followed by participating at Bouchercon in November, headlined by adorable Simon Wood, our table host at Left Coast Crime last March in Monterey. Thanks to Sunny Frazier in her Kings River Magazine for noting I’ll be there with House of Dads, Book 2 in the Hillary Broome series (see the third book down). I realize I should have included some of Sunny Frazier’s books, set in the San Joaquin Valley in the Haggin presentation–next time!
So, hoping to get back to more regular posting here. Some exciting plans in the future: some of the Delta Creative Writing Fiction students are on board with Gorilla Girl Ink producing an ebook of their short stories at the end of the fall semester!
